Kampo Medicine

Kampo medicine is an ancient Japanese system of medicine that uses a wide variety of methods for diagnosing and treating many different medical conditions.

Kaplan Lenses

Kaplan lenses, another term for ambient prism lenses, are used to help improve ambient vision, the visual system related to spatial organisation.

Karate

Karate is a martial art which uses a variety of striking techniques, including punching, kicking, knee and elbow strikes.

KASPAR

KASPAR is a child-sized robot designed for use as a social mediator, encouraging and helping children with autism to interact and communicate with adults and other children.

Kata

Kata is a system of basic body positioning and movement exercises, as in karate or judo.

Keppra

Keppra is a brand name for levetiracetam, a type of anticonvulsant, a group of drugs which aim to prevent or reduce the severity of seizures.

Ketipinor

Ketipinor is a brand name for quetiapine, a type of antipsychotic drug sometimes used to treat challenging behaviours in people on the autism spectrum.

Keto Diet

Keto diet is another term for the ketogenic diet, a high fat, adequate protein, low carbohydrate diet designed to mimic many of the biochemical changes associated with prolonged starvation.

Ketoconazole

Ketoconazole is a type of antifungal medication sold under a variety of brand names including Nizoral.

Keyhole Early Intervention

The Keyhole Early Intervention programme is a multi-component early intervention programme for preschool children with autism.

Klamath Weed

Klamath weed is another term for St. John's Wort, a plant used to treat a range of conditions including depression.

Klonopin

Klonopin is a brand name for clonazepam, a type of anticonvulsant, a group of drugs which aim to prevent or reduce the severity of seizures.

KONTAKT

KONTAKT is the German name for the Frankfurt Social Skills Training progamme, a social skills group for children and adolescents on the autism spectrum.
