Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers and Young Children (STAT)

The Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers and Young Children (STAT) is a screening tool designed to identify children between 24 and 36 months of age who may be on the autism spectrum.

The STAT is designed to be used by community service providers who work with young children in assessment or intervention settings and who have experience with autism.

The STAT assesses key social and communicative behaviors including imitation, play, requesting, and directing attention.

The STAT identifies toddlers and young children who may be on the autism spectrum and who should be referred for a more complete evaluation

The STAT was developed by a range of profesionals involved in the assessment of children on the autism spectrum.
