Tetrahydrobiopterin
Tetrahydrobiopterin (also known as THB or BH4) is a naturally occurring nutrient and essential cofactor of the three aromatic amino acid hydroxylase enzymes.
Sapropterin is a specific form of tetrahydrobiopterin that is sold under a variety of brand names including Kuvan. It helps to activate phenylalanine hydroxylase, the enzyme that breaks down phenylalanine in the body.
