Childhood Autism Spectrum Test (CAST)
The Childhood Autism Spectrum Test or CAST (formerly called the Childhood Asperger Syndrome Test) is a screening tool designed to identify children who may be on the autism spectrum.
The CAST consists of 39, yes or no, questions. For example, question 1 is: 'Does s/he join in playing games with other children easily?'
The CAST can be used by parents, GPs and healthcare visitors and is designed to screen children of any age.
The questionnaire was developed by ARC (the Autism Research Centre) at the University of Cambridge.
