Pervasive Developmental Disorders Screening Test (PDDST)

The Pervasive Developmental Disorders Screening Test (PDDST) is a screening tool designed to identify children between 12 to 48 months old who may be on the autism spectrum.

The PDDST is designed to be used by the child's parent or other main caregiver.

The PDDST consists of a 23-item questionnaire. For example, Question 1 asks: 'Did your baby ever seem bored or uninterested in conversations around him?'

The PDDST identifies toddlers and young children who may be on the autism spectrum and who should be referred for a more complete evaluation.

The PDDST was developed by Bryna Siegel at the University of California, San Francisco.  There have been several versions.
