Antibiotics
Antibiotics are a class of drugs used used to treat, and in some cases prevent, bacterial infections.
They can be used to treat relatively mild conditions such as acne as well as potentially life-threatening conditions such as pneumonia.
There are a number of different antibiotics including amoxicillin, cycloserine, itraconazole, metronidazole, minocycline, rapamycin and vancomycin, each of which is sold under a variety of brand names.
Some people believe that antibiotics can also be used to reduce some of the core symptoms of autism, such as social and communication difficulties and repetitive, compulsive behaviour.
