Atomoxetine is in a class of medications called selective noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors..

Atomoxetine is sold under a variety of brand names including Strattera.

Atomoxetine is used as part of a total treatment programme to increase the ability to pay attention and decrease impulsiveness and hyperactivity in children and adults with ADHD.

Because of this it is sometimes grouped with central nervous system (CNS) stimulants.
