International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems
The International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD) is a manual which provides codes to classify diseases and disorders.
It is published by the World Health Organisation and covers all categories of health conditions for both adults and children.
The latest version is known as ICD-10 which was published in 1990 but it is due to be replaced in 2019 by ICD-11.
The other major diagnostic manual is The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders which is published by the American Psychiatric Association.
