The Barnet Early Autism Model (BEAM) is a comprehensive treatment model aimed at pre-school children on the autism spectrum.

BED

BED is an acronym for the body ecology diet, which was originally created to treat systemic fungal infections.

Befriending

Befriending is a scheme which encourages individuals to benefit from a one-to-one relationship with a volunteer befriender.

Behavior Analytic Instruction

Behavior analytic instruction is another term for applied behaviour analysis, a systematic way of observing someone's behaviour, identifying desirable changes in that behaviour and then using the most appropriate methods to make those changes.

Behaviour Momentum

Behaviour momentum is a strategy designed to to build a student’s “momentum” for following directions. 

Behavioural and Developmental Interventions for Specific Functions

Behavioural and developmental interventions for specific functions is a term we have created to describe a group of interventions which focus on one or more specific functions (such as communication) and which use one or more behavioural techniques.

Behavioural and Developmental Techniques

We use the term behavioural and developmental techniques to describe a wide range of individual techniques used within behavioural and developmental interventions.

Behavioural Intervention

Behavioural interventions are designed to encourage appropriate behaviour (such as getting dressed or talking to other people) and to discourage inappropriate behaviour (such as self harm or aggression towards others).

Belivon

Belivon is a brand name for risperidone, an atypical antipsychotic.

Benzodiazepines

Benzodiazepines are a form of anxiolytic drug, used to treat feelings of anxiety or nervousness caused by stress or psychological problems.

Benztropine

Benzatropine is an anticholinergic drug used to reduce the side effects of antipsychotic treatment, such as pseudoparkinsonism and dystonia.

Berberine

Berberine is an alkaloid found in some plants which is sometimes used as an antifungal and antibiotic supplement.

Beta Blockers

Beta blockers is another term for β-adrenergic-antagonists, a type of drug called adrenergic antagonists.
