Neuro-Respiratory Therapy

Neuro-respiratory therapy is another term for the Scotson Technique, an intervention based on 'correcting respiratory mechanics', that is, helping the individual breathe more easily.

Neuroleptics

Neuroleptics is another term for antipsychotics, a class of psychoative drugs used to treat a range of mental health problems including psychosis, anxiety and dementia.

Neuropsychotherapy

Neuropsychotherapy is another term for cognitive training, an intervention which aims to improve or restore an individual's cognitive skills, such as the ability to pay attention.

Neurotensin

Neurotensin is a hormone which modulates motility, relaxes the lower esophageal sphincter, and blocks the stimulation of acid and pepsin secretion by the vagus nerve.

Nizoral

Nizoral is a brand name for ketoconazole, a type of antifungal medication used to treat fungal infections.

NLP

NLP is an acronym for neuro-linguistic programming, an intervention based on changing the way you think about something in order to change the way you behave towards that thing.

NMDA Receptor Antagonists

NMDA receptor antagonists are a class of anesthetics that work to antagonise (inhibit) the action of the N-methyl d-aspartate receptor (NMDAR).

Nonverbal Reading Approach

The nonverbal reading approach is a reading strategy designed for students with severe speech and physical impairments.

Nootropil

Nootropil is a brand name for piracetam, a drug sometimes taken as a dietary supplement which is designed to protect the cerebral cortex in the brain against a deficiency of oxygen.

Norepinephrine

Norepinephrine, also called levarterenol and noradrenalin, is a hormone and neurotransmitter that causes vasoconstriction and increases in heart rate, blood pressure, and the sugar level of the blood.

Norpramin

Norpramin is a brand name for desipramine, a type of tricyclic antidepresssant, which is used to treat depression.

Nortriptyline

Nortriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant, sold under a variety of brand names including Allegron, Aventyl and Pamelor.

The Nourishing Traditions diet requires you to consume a combination of traditional food types while avoiding processed foods.

Nova Scotia Early Intensive Behavior Intervention model
